"I wish they all could be Oregon girls" doesn't have the same ring.

As you read this--or (more probably) don't--I will be on the golf course. My law firm sponsors two golf tournaments every year. This year, they take place today and on Monday, which means that I get two straight days out of the office to play golf on the firm golf team. Because it's a small firm, they have little choice but to put me on the team, even though I'm one of the worst golfers ever. The two sweetest words in the English language: DE FAULT. Last year, there were two players on my team who were even worse than I which meant (naturally) that we finished in last place (handily). But who cares? I'm out of work today, and YOU AREN'T.

So contemplate your ultimate failure as you peruse the following news items:

• Why do they rock so hard?
• Utter and complete bullcrap; now we stereotype races by haircuts?
• Let's hope for a better response, so they don't have to fill out the "Girls of the Pac-10" with chicks from... ugh, Washington (or Oregon). Maybe some hot female Pluh.comrades could pretend to be Arizona or Arizona State (both Pac-10 schools) students ...?
• Lego Star Wars gets released today for PC, PS2, GBA, and XBox. (Website features a game trailer and playable demo.) There are at least 30 playable characters, and the game allows you to play through Episodes I, II, and III. There are two drawbacks, however: (1) Jar Jar Binks is probably a playable--and not slayable--character, and (2) Amidala is a flat-chested Lego piece instead of Natalie Portmayunn.
• More Half-Life 2 stuff! For those whose computers were waaaaayyyy too powerful for HL2 (as opposed to say, Shafty's POS that wouldn't run HL2 at all), there's Half-Life 2 Lost Coast on the way. Also, the first HL2 expansion pack (titled "Aftermath") is scheduled for a summer release through Steam. An Aftermath teaser is located here.
• Quake IV details!
• Finally, a choir that DOESN'T suck! (This is very, very, VERY cool. Songs include--obviously--Super Mario Brothers, Tetris, Mortal Kombat, Zelda, and Mario 3.)
• Evidently, the Matrix Online sucks.
• Civil War Battle re-enacted between Confederate Army and... Trekkies.  The dorks won.  They're ALL dorks.
• ... speaking of which....
