Since every other stupid "website" is posting their "thoughts" on Nintendo’s odd console name, here’s mine.

I went onto Shacknews and posted a joke about it saying, "I’m playing with my Wii all day and into the night," and the post was deleted. I guess being an gaming elitist AND a prick moderator puts food on the table and lines your hubcaps with those horrible spinny-thingies.

Wait, those aren’t my thoughts on Wii.

Anyway. My personal opinion of the name is, "I want to play games." No matter WHAT Nintendo calls their new system, the games (along side the new controller and other stuff they have yet to announce) will be extremely fun to play. You’ll be able to download tons of games from NES, SNES, Genesis, Master System (I think), and that’s just a small part of the whole package! I might be a little biased since the NES was the very first console I ever owned, but… shut up.

So while people are making horrible penis puns with Wii, I’ll be calling it, "Whee!" and play games. And besides, this sort of reaction is what Nintendo expected! You think they’d release "Wii" and not predict that the gaming audience would have a love/hate thing  for it? One very important marketing tactic that has always worked since day one: "Love me, hate me, but don’t you dare forget me."

Something like that.
